December Update

Happy End of December! So it's a day early but I'm feeling on top of things... you know the feeling... usually happens only once a year where you get caught up to the point of doing something relaxing. Kinda weird feeling. So obviously December wasn't a calm relaxing month for us... more like CRAZY! :)

Brel got her 1st haircut at the beginning of the month. No, she still doesn't really have hair but she's been begging for a haircut so we did it. Just to even it out and see if it'll grow faster and thicker now. She also had her super-bestest-friend come and play ALOT this month! Mommy did a little extra daycare ofr Teylor D and of course Breller and her are inseperable! She loves her Teylor! :)

The boys had fun playing in the snow this month and we realized that no matter what the temp is outside - Tyson will still go out there! Crazy Boy!

Adam had the busiest month of us all. He got his doe at the beginning of the month! Hicks R Us was our new name for a bit. He had to use my Yukon to go hunting with and ended up bringing the deer home strapped to the top. Of course, he didn't get it dropped off at the locker til the next day so we looked super cool. All we need is a couch outside! :) hee hee He then flew off to Idaho for 2 weeks straight! He & Brian (our roommate) headed up there for work and enjoyed themselves. Luckily they made it home right before the big snowstorm/blizzard. Unfortunately their luggage just got home a few days ago. Loving airlines! :)

I stayed busy with daycare and a few extra hours at the Post Office.

We all had a fabulous Christmas! The kids were spoiled. We enjoyed time with family and ate too much. But if we hadn't - then it wouldn't be Christmas! The day after Christmas some friends from Colorado came to join our families! Mom & Dad took on a few and we took on 5! It was actually a lot of fun even though there was a lot of running around and a bit of chaos in the house. But as we've stated before - come on over! Our house is always open and we are always willing to help out!

My Best Christmas Present EVER!

Not very often do you have a mommy moment that humbles you and makes you proud all at once. Tristan gave me the best Christmas present ever and never fails to make me proud.

Tuesday night we had our Mulder Christmas... delayed from Sunday due to the snow.
I asked the boys what their favorite part was of the whole night and got multiple answers from Tyson. Tristan was mad at Adam so he wasn't talking.

As I was tucking them into bed I bent to give Tristan a kiss and hug.
"Mom?" he said.
"What?" I reply as I run through my head this is a way to delay bedtime and tell a LONG exaggerated story
"'Member when you asked us what our favorite was? Well, my favorite gift tonight was kisses and hugs from Opa & Oma Bumpa & Gramma."

And that's when my heart melted and I received the best Christmas EVER! My child actually understands that love is never seen - it is a feeling!

I love being a mom.

One more day...

The two weeks of singlehood are coming to an end. I won't be a single mommy again for at least 2 more weeks! Hey, that's enough for me! The kids are at their wits end too. Time for Daddy to be home. Time for it to be warm enough to play outside in the snow. Time for me to take a hot bath and relax after a stressful - full of fight day!

Remember my last post - I was all happy about no fighting....??? well, we made up for that day today! Go figure!

And life goes on.....

Mommy's Rock

Sometimes you have to take the time to toot your own horn. You have to be the one to say you've done a good job. Many call it bragging but in reality if you do it in moderation (as with everything else) it is actually good to lift your self-esteem. You see, you toot your own horn because being a mother of small children - no child is going to tell you that you did a good job.
So here I am - saying I rocked it in Mom World yesterday!
We made gingerbread cookies, (no fighting) decorated them, (still no fighting) and delivered them to 3 different families in our town.
The kids went in their PJ's after bath to deliver them but they had a great time doing it. Like Brel said - "we ave FUN, mommy. I yike saying mewwy chwistmas!" Maybe being a mom isn't the most rewarding job as I wipe dirty butts, clean snotty noses, or listen to my kids whine and fight. But moments like this are totally worth it.
Did I have the camera out to capture the moment - nope, cause I was to busy living it with my kids. Flour everywhere - sprinkles in places I'll never find. But that's alright because one day I'll dig deep in my memory and pull those photos out. Too bad they haven't invented a detachable memory stick for the mind that is downloadable and printable to a computer.

Enjoy your Christmas season - we are!
The Blom's - minus one.... (Adam is still in Idaho)

Jabrel

Not much is ever written about our 3rd child, Miss Jabrel. I'm not sure if it is because she isn't involved in a school or because she has 3rd child syndrome.... who knows? But this blog is dedicated to our little princess in our life. As you can see she keeps us on our toes! From dressing like a princess to acting like a queen after her very first haircut to taking bubble baths in mommy's tub to eating snow. The girl keeps life busy. There are the funny adorable moments that make you cherish her every breath and the trying, obstinate moments that make you wish you could catch your own breath. All in all - we'd never trade in our blue-eyed, blonde haired, little princess.

First Blog Ever!

I found time to start a blog and we'll see how it goes from here.
My goal: to blog instead of send monthly updates...
My reality: crazy schedule with a busy family... we'll see how this works out.
I'm also not SUPER computer savvy when it comes to adding pics so we'll see.
Enjoy the ride!
